PHYSIOTHERAPY IN DAPTO & UNANDERRA
Tennis elbow physiotherapy
Elbow pain when gripping, lifting a kettle, using tools or training? I help you understand what is aggravating your elbow and build a plan for returning to those tasks.
What is tennis elbow?
Tennis elbow, also called lateral epicondylalgia or lateral epicondylitis, describes pain around the outside of the elbow. It can affect people who don’t play tennis. Repeated gripping and wrist or forearm tasks may contribute to symptoms.
What I assess
We discuss your work, sport, training changes and the tasks that trigger pain. I assess relevant elbow and wrist movement, strength, grip and load tolerance, considering other areas or nerve-related symptoms where appropriate. Not all elbow pain has the same cause.
How rehabilitation can help
Your plan may include adapting aggravating tasks and progressively strengthening the wrist and forearm. I tailor the exercise dose to your current response and help you build toward the demands of work or sport. Hands-on treatment or other techniques may be considered when appropriate, alongside an active rehabilitation plan.
Should I just rest?
Reducing irritating tasks can help, but we also need a practical plan for rebuilding tolerance. I help you decide what to modify, what you can keep doing and when to progress. Recovery varies; there isn’t a fixed number of sessions for everyone.
