PHYSIOTHERAPY IN DAPTO & UNANDERRA
Osteoarthritis physiotherapy
Joint pain or stiffness making walking, stairs or exercise harder? I help you understand your symptoms and build a practical plan for moving with more confidence.
What is osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is a joint condition that can cause pain, stiffness and reduced function. It commonly affects the knees and hips. Your symptoms and daily limitations matter alongside the diagnosis.
What I assess
We discuss your history, symptom pattern, previous treatment and goals. I assess relevant joint movement, strength and everyday tasks such as walking, standing from a chair or climbing stairs. We also consider factors affecting your ability to exercise consistently.
How physiotherapy can help
Education and tailored exercise are central to osteoarthritis care. Your programme may combine strengthening, mobility and general fitness, with the starting level adapted to your current capacity. I help you find a manageable balance between activity and recovery, then progress toward the tasks that matter to you.
Do I have to stop exercising?
Usually, the aim is to find movement you can manage rather than abandon activity. Some discomfort can occur when starting exercise; we discuss how to monitor your response and adjust your programme. Physiotherapy does not promise to reverse arthritis or guarantee that surgery will never be needed.
